A boundary that still looks right in ten years
Close-board, post-and-rail and panel fencing, measured to your run and set in ground that shifts. Fixed quote within 48 hours of the visit.
Why choose a specialist
Builders build. Landscapers landscape. We fence.
Most fencing on the island is fitted by someone whose real trade is something else — a bit of fencing between jobs. It shows within two winters: posts that move, rails that sag, gates that catch.
We do one thing, and we do it properly.
Three ways to close a boundary
Close-board. Built on site, board by board. The strongest option and the one that copes best with island wind. Because each board is fixed individually on site, it follows the ground rather than sitting proud of it — there's no fixed panel height fighting a sloping or uneven run.
Panel. Quicker and cheaper. Right for a sheltered garden, wrong for an exposed one. It goes up faster because the panels arrive built, which is exactly why it performs worse on an exposed run — a full panel takes the wind as one sheet rather than board by board.
Post-and-rail. Open boundaries, paddocks and field edges, where you want a line rather than a screen. It's built to mark a boundary rather than block a view, so it needs less timber and a shorter visit to put up.
The fence fails at the post, every time
Nobody's fence blows down because the boards were wrong. It goes because the post moved. Depth, concrete, spacing and the ground you're setting into are the whole job — and they're the part that's invisible the day it's finished.
That's the difference between a specialist and a builder doing a fence between jobs.
What goes into it
Posts — set to depth, concreted
Timber — pressure treated
Fixings — galvanised throughout
Old fence — removed and taken away
Repair or replace
Not every boundary needs a full rebuild. We'll look at what you've got and tell you straight which one is worth your money.
