The first thing anyone sees of your property
Driveway and side gates, made to your opening rather than bought to a size. Automation fitted, or wired ready for later.
Why choose a specialist
Builders build. Landscapers landscape. We fence.
Most fencing on the island is fitted by someone whose real trade is something else — a bit of fencing between jobs. It shows within two winters: posts that move, rails that sag, gates that catch.
We do one thing, and we do it properly.
Built to the opening you've got
Driveway gates. Single or double, timber or metal. Measured to the gap, hung on posts sized for the weight. Bought-to-size gates get trimmed, packed or forced to fit — ours are built for the gap you actually have.
Automation & access. Remote, keypad or intercom. Fitted with the gate, or ducted now and added later. Whichever you choose, it's set up and tested before we leave, not left running on default settings.
Side & pedestrian gates. Matched to the fencing either side, so the boundary reads as one thing. Matching the run either side is what makes a gate look like part of the boundary instead of an add-on.
A gate fails at the post, not the gate
Everyone has lived with a gate that drops, drags on the path, or stops closing by the second winter. Almost none of it is the gate. It's a post that wasn't sized or set for the weight it's carrying, swinging on hardware chosen to be cheap.
We size the post to the leaf, set it properly, and hang it on hardware that can be adjusted years later instead of replaced.
What goes into it
Posts — sized to the leaf, concreted
Hardware — adjustable, galvanised
Timber — pressure treated, island-suited
Automation — installed and set up, not just supplied
Gates we've hung
Automated double gate · Castel — 4.2m
Timber side gate, matched boundary · St Peter Port — 1.1m
Open it from the car
Most people decide about automation after the gate is in, and by then the cost is in digging the drive up again. Ducting it during the install costs very little and leaves the decision open.
Wired ready for later: we run the ducting and leave the gate manual. Add the motor whenever it suits — no digging, no re-hanging. Ask about it in your quote.
